Reed Education is working in partnership with a welcoming and inclusive 2-form entry primary school seeking a dedicated SEND Teaching Assistant to support a Year 1 pupil throughout the 2026/27 academic year.

The successful candidate will play a key role in helping a child access learning, develop socially and emotionally, and achieve their individual targets.
The Role
As a SEND Teaching Assistant, you will provide targeted support to a Year 1 pupil with additional needs, working closely with the class teachers, SENDCo, and wider staff team.
Key responsibilities include:
*Providing 1:1 support and intervention throughout the school day.
*Supporting the pupil’s academic, social, and emotional development.
*Implementing strategies from support plans and EHCPs where applicable.
*Working collaboratively with teaching staff across the Year 1 team.
*Encouraging independence, confidence, and positive behaviour.
*Adapting learning activities to meet individual needs.
*Monitoring progress and providing regular feedback to the class teacher and SENDCo.
The Ideal Candidate
The school is looking for someone who:
*Has experience supporting children with SEND in a school or similar setting.
*Is patient, empathetic, and resilient.
*Can build positive relationships with pupils, staff, and parents.
*Has strong communication and teamwork skills.
*Demonstrates a genuine passion for inclusion and supporting children’s development.
*Holds a Teaching Assistant qualification or relevant experience (desirable but not essential).
