Job Description:
Full job descriptionThe Role
We are recruiting on behalf of a growing and ambitious business based in London. Our client is looking for a talented and commercially minded Management Accountant to join their finance team at an exciting stage of their growth journey.
This is a hands-on role for someone who is technically strong, comfortable working at pace, and keen to make a real impact in a business that is scaling quickly. You will be responsible for producing accurate and timely management accounts, supporting the senior leadership team with financial insight, and playing an active role in improving the financial processes and controls of the business.
This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified or part-qualified accountant who wants to work in a dynamic environment where their contribution will be visible and valued.
Please note: This role is exclusively recruited for via Consula. Applications made outside of Consula will not be considered and cannot progress. To apply, you must submit your application through the Consula platform.
Key Responsibilities
· Prepare monthly management accounts, including profit and loss, balance sheet, and cash flow statements, to agreed deadlines.
· Provide detailed variance analysis and commentary, explaining key movements against budget and forecast.
· Support the annual budgeting and quarterly forecasting processes, working closely with budget holders across the business.
· Maintain and improve financial controls, processes, and procedures to ensure accuracy and compliance.
· Assist with the year-end audit process, liaising with external auditors and preparing supporting schedules as required.
· Produce ad hoc financial analysis and reporting to support business decisions and strategic planning.
· Work closely with senior stakeholders, translating financial data into clear, actionable insight.
· Identify opportunities to improve financial reporting and drive efficiencies across the finance function.
What We Are Looking For
· Qualified or part-qualified accountant — ACA, ACCA, or CIMA preferred.
· Proven experience in a Management Accountant or similar finance role, ideally within a fast-paced or growing business.
· Strong technical accounting skills with a solid understanding of management accounts preparation and financial reporting.
· Advanced Excel skills; experience with accounting software such as Xero, Sage, or similar is advantageous.
· Commercially astute, with the ability to translate numbers into meaningful business insight.
· Excellent attention to detail and the ability to work accurately under pressure and to tight deadlines.
· Strong communication skills — confident engaging with non-finance stakeholders and presenting financial information clearly.
· London-based or able to commute to London regularly.
What’s On Offer
· Salary of £65,000 – £75,000 depending on experience.
· Hybrid working with genuine flexibility.
· A high-visibility role in a business that is growing fast and investing in its people.
· Real opportunity to progress as the business scales.
· Competitive benefits package including pension, private healthcare, and generous holiday allowance.
