Full job descriptionOur client is a well-established organisation operating within the electrical power distribution sector. As part of their continued growth, they are looking to appoint an experienced Sales Director to lead and develop their commercial function, driving sustainable growth across the UK market.
This is an outstanding opportunity for a commercially focused sales leader who combines strategic thinking with a hands-on approach. You’ll be responsible for leading, developing and motivating a high-performing sales team while maintaining your own relationships with key accounts and delivering profitable new business.
Reporting to the Managing Director, you will be responsible for developing and executing the company’s sales strategy, ensuring the delivery of ambitious revenue and profitability targets.
Roles & Responsibilities:
*Develop and deliver the company’s sales strategy in line with business objectives.
*Lead, mentor and develop a team of Regional Sales Managers and Business Development professionals.
*Drive profitable growth through a combination of strategic account management and new business acquisition.
*Build and maintain long-term relationships with key customers, consultants, contractors, utilities, OEMs and distribution partners.
*Identify new market opportunities and develop plans to increase market share.
*Own the sales pipeline, forecasting and reporting processes, ensuring accurate business visibility.
*Support the sales team on major opportunities, customer negotiations and contract discussions.
*Work closely with engineering, operations and marketing to ensure a coordinated customer approach.
*Promote a high-performance sales culture through coaching, performance management and personal development.
*Analyse market trends, competitor activity and customer requirements to inform business strategy.
*Represent the business at customer meetings, exhibitions and industry events.
The Ideal Candidate
*Significant experience in a senior sales leadership position within the electrical power industry.
*A proven track record of managing and developing high-performing sales teams.
*Strong experience of winning new business while growing and retaining key customer accounts.
*A strategic approach to sales planning, forecasting and business development.
*Experience managing complex sales cycles and negotiating commercial agreements.
*Excellent leadership, coaching and communication skills.
*The ability to build credibility with customers and internal stakeholders at all levels.
