We are looking for an Auto Electrician to join our busy depot located in Keighley. This is a highly rewarding, specialized career that offers the chance to work with complex diagnostics, keep local communities moving, and help drive the transition to sustainable, green transportation.
BASIC SALARY: £36,400
LOCATION: Keighley
COMMUTABLE LOCATIONS:
Bradford, Leeds, Halifax, Skipton, Colne, Yeadon, Otley, Addingham, Barnoldswick, Burnley, Hebden Bridge, Todmorden, Hosforth, Pudsey, Batly, Brighouse
JOB DESCRIPTION: (Auto Electrician/Commercial Vehicle/Automotive)
·Using advanced diagnostic equipment, multimeters, and laptops to connect to the bus’s Engine Control Unit (ECU) to pinpoint system errors.
·Repairing or replacing alternators, starter motors, battery banks, and faulty wiring in accordance with strict DVSA (Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency) safety regulations
·Working with heavily integrated multiplex wiring networks that control a bus’s doors, lighting, and engine components.
·Installing and maintaining passenger-facing technology such as security cameras, telematics, passenger counting sensors, and electronic ticketing machines
PERSON SPECIFICATION: (Auto Electrician/Commercial Vehicle/Automotive)
·Be responsible in repairing and maintaining the company vehicles to a DVSA or higher standard
·Servicing and major unit changes
·Be able to carry out preventative maintenance
·Be able to carry out roadside and running repairs as necessary
·Be NVQ or City & Guilds level 3 in PCV/HGV engineering
