Hours: Monday - Thursday 7am - 4.00pm - Friday 7am - 11am
Salary: Competitive salary of £38,000 per annum (pro rata)
Contract: 6-Month Fixed-Term Contract
Overview
An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Materials Expeditor to join a busy Supply Chain team on a 6-month fixed-term contract. This role is responsible for ensuring the timely supply of materials and components to support production schedules and customer demand within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
*Expedite materials and components to ensure production requirements are met.
*Monitor supplier deliveries and proactively chase outstanding purchase orders.
*Liaise with suppliers regarding delivery schedules, shortages and potential supply risks.
*Maintain accurate purchase order information within the ERP/MRP system.
*Work closely with Purchasing, Planning and Production teams to ensure material availability.
*Provide regular updates on delivery status and resolve supply issues promptly.
*Support inventory management and minimise material shortages and disruptions.
*Monitor supplier performance and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
Skills & Experience
*Previous experience in a Materials Expeditor, Purchasing, Supply Chain or Materials Planning role.
*Experience within a manufacturing or engineering environment is desirable.
*Good understanding of procurement and supply chain processes.
*Experience using ERP/MRP systems.
*Strong organisational, communication and problem-solving skills.
*Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
*Ability to prioritise workload and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Personal Attributes
*Highly organised with excellent attention to detail.
*Proactive and solutions-focused approach.
*Strong relationship-building and stakeholder management skills.
*Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
