Up to £49,000 OTE | Monday-Friday | Excellent Benefits
A well-established commercial vehicle dealership is seeking an experienced Workshop Controller to lead the day-to-day operation of a busy HGV workshop. This role is ideal for a highly organised, proactive individual who can effectively manage workshop performance, technician productivity, compliance, and customer service standards.
Salary & Hours
*Basic salary up to £43,000 DOE
*OTE up to £49,000 including bonus
*41 hours per week
*Monday-Friday, typically 8:00am-5:00pm
*1 in 4 Saturday mornings (8:00am-12:00pm)
Key Responsibilities
*Maximise workshop efficiency, productivity and profitability.
*Plan and allocate work effectively to technicians.
*Lead, motivate and develop the workshop team.
*Maintain strong communication between workshop, service, parts and customers.
*Ensure accurate completion of repair and service documentation.
*Manage workshop equipment, tooling and calibration records.
*Work closely with the Parts department to minimise downtime.
*Ensure manufacturer warranty standards are met.
*Maintain exceptional Health & Safety and housekeeping standards.
*Support customer satisfaction initiatives and maintain audit readiness.
About You
*Experience within an HGV, commercial vehicle or heavy automotive workshop environment.
*Strong organisational and leadership skills.
*Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
*Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritise workloads effectively.
*Good understanding of Health & Safety requirements.
*Customer-focused with a commitment to quality and operational excellence.
