Are you an experienced Science Technician looking for your next opportunity?We are seeking a dedicated and organised Science Technician to join a thriving secondary school in Bradford on a full-time, long-term cover basis starting in September. This is an excellent opportunity to play a vital role in supporting the delivery of high-quality science education across Key Stages 3 and 4.
The Role
As a Science Technician, you will work closely with the Science Department to ensure practical lessons are delivered safely, efficiently, and effectively. You will be responsible for preparing equipment and materials, maintaining laboratory resources, and supporting teachers and students during practical activities.
Key Responsibilities
*Preparing and setting up equipment, chemicals, and resources for science lessons.
*Ensuring laboratories are clean, organised, and fully stocked.
*Maintaining, checking, and repairing science equipment where appropriate.
*Supporting staff during practical experiments and demonstrations.
*Monitoring and adhering to health and safety regulations within the department.
*Managing stock levels and placing orders for equipment and consumables.
*Safely storing and disposing of chemicals and waste materials.
Requirements
*Previous experience working as a Science Technician within a school environment is essential.
*Sound knowledge of laboratory health and safety procedures.
*Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
*Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
*Excellent communication and time management skills.
*A proactive and flexible approach to work.
