Reed HR are delighted to be supporting a prestigious and well-established Oxford-based organisation in their search for an experienced HR Manager to join them in a newly created standalone role.
This is an exciting opportunity for an accomplished HR professional to review, develop and lead the HR function, supporting a diverse workforce within a complex and highly regarded environment. The role offers a rare opportunity to shape HR strategy while remaining closely involved in operational delivery, making a tangible impact across the organisation.
Reporting to a senior leader, you will act as the organisation’s HR expert, providing both strategic and hands-on support across all aspects of the employee lifecycle.
The Role
Key responsibilities will include:
*Advising senior stakeholders and departmental leaders on a broad range of HR and employment matters.
*Reviewing, developing and implementing HR policies and procedures in line with employment legislation and best practice.
*Supporting organisational development initiatives, staff wellbeing programmes and training activities.
*Providing guidance and support on employee relations matters, including disciplinary, grievance, absence management and organisational change.
*Championing diversity, equity and inclusion initiatives across the organisation.
*Supporting managers with recruitment, onboarding, performance management and employee engagement activities.
*Managing HR systems and ensuring accurate HR records and GDPR compliance.
*Producing key HR reports, including equality and workforce data.
*Delivering HR training and coordinating external training providers where required.
*Building strong relationships with stakeholders at all levels to promote a positive and inclusive workplace culture.
About You
We are keen to hear from HR professionals who possess:
*CIPD Level 5 qualification or above, or equivalent professional experience.
*Significant generalist HR experience, ideally gained within higher education, a not-for-profit environment or another complex organisation.
*Strong knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practice.
*Experience of developing and implementing HR policies and procedures.
*Excellent employee relations expertise and the confidence to advise senior stakeholders.
*A proactive, hands-on approach and the ability to successfully manage a standalone HR function.
*Experience using HR systems and maintaining accurate employee records.
*Outstanding communication, interpersonal and influencing skills.
*High levels of professionalism, discretion and attention to detail.
