A London-based ship owner is looking to appoint a Senior Accounts Assistant as part of a planned transition within a settled team.
Based in St James’s, with one day per week from home.
This is a hands-on role in a small accounts function, with direct exposure to senior stakeholders and oversight of core finance processes linked to international vessel operations.
The environment is close-knit and structured, where output, accuracy and pace matter. The role suits someone comfortable taking ownership quickly and building credibility with experienced colleagues.
Overview of the role:
*Manage supplier and vessel invoice processing, payments and reconciliations
*Support and lead elements of the monthly funding cycle and cashflow tracking
*Maintain accuracy across accounting systems and Excel-based reporting
The position offers genuine scope to develop, with support for professional qualification once established. The work is varied, tied closely to global shipping movements, and requires consistent engagement with activity outside standard UK hours.
Key requirements:
*Experience in accounts payable or a similar finance role
*Exposure to multi-currency transactions or international payments
*Strong Excel capability with attention to detail in reconciliations
A qualification in accountancy is not required. This company is willing to support your journey to become a qualified accountant.
