Full job descriptionAn established and highly successful Civil Engineering Contractor is looking to appoint a Quantity Surveyor to join its growing commercial team
Operating across a diverse portfolio, the business has built an excellent reputation for delivering quality schemes for both public and private sector clients. The company has a strong order book and a long-standing client base, with projects typically valued up to £2m-£3m
The Role
Reporting into the Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will play a key role in the commercial management of multiple projects from contract award through to final account
Key duties will include:
*Managing project costs and budgets throughout the project
*Preparing valuations, applications for payment and final accounts
*Identifying, pricing and agreeing variations
*Procurement and management of subcontractor packages
*Reviewing and negotiating subcontractor accounts
*Monitoring project performance and cost reporting
*Managing cash flow and forecasting
*Identifying commercial risks and opportunities

We are keen to speak with Quantity Surveyors who have experience within Civil Engineering, Infrastructure, Highways, Groundworks or General Construction environments
You will ideally possess:
*Previous Quantity Surveying experience within Construction or Civil Engineering
*Strong commercial and contractual awareness
*Good understanding of NEC and JCT
*Experience managing subcontractor accounts and valuations
*Excellent numerical, analytical and negotiation skills
*Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities
*A proactive and organised approach to managing multiple projects simultaneously
*Ability to work collaboratively within both commercial and operational teams
