A new exciting permanent opportunity has become available to join a modern organisation within the civil service, that relies heavily on IT services to innovate and operate effectively on both national and international levels.
As a Front-End Developer, you will have the chance to work with cutting-edge cloud technologies, engage in modern delivery processes, and participate in innovative projects, including those involving AI and ML.
Day-to-day of the role:
*Design, code, test, and document a range of applications from small scale to large, complex or mission-critical in a cloud-first environment.
*Build web-based Front-End interfaces interacting with RESTful APIs using React, Next JS, and other web technologies.
*Work closely with test engineers to ensure a common understanding of the code base and test coverage.
*Proactively investigate problems and opportunities in existing processes, evaluating and communicating findings and recommendations to stakeholders.
*Work within a multi-disciplinary team to deliver highly user-focused and successful digital services, ensuring governance standards are adhered to.
*Implement toolkits and APIs for purposes such as integration, performance optimisation, security, and scalability.
*Explore innovative ways to solve problems, working in a fail-fast fashion to provide required functionality.
*Apply HMG IA technical security controls according to ISO 27001 & the Security Policy Framework (SPF).
Required Skills & Qualifications:
*Significant experience in delivering technical solutions as part of large projects.
*Proficient with modern delivery models such as Scrum and Agile.
*Experience working with cloud technologies, particularly Azure.
*Working knowledge of Azure DevOps and Git.
*Advocate of DevOps principles.
*Excellent understanding of React and experience with Next JS.
*Strong knowledge of Node JS and experience working with RESTful web services.
*Good understanding of architectural principles with design patterns such as SOA and Micro-Services.
