Full job descriptionUK Research and Innovation
Finance Planning & Reporting Analyst
Salary: Band E - £46,700 to £58,691 plus an additional £2,500 for qualified candidates
Location: Swindon/Hybrid – 2 days per week in the office
Deadline to apply: Sunday 26th July 2026
UK Research and Innovation sits at the heart of the UK’s scientific and innovation ambition, investing billions each year across nine world-leading research councils. Right now, we are transforming how we plan, report and use financial data, and we need talented finance professionals to help us do it.
We have two exciting opportunities for Finance Planning and Reporting Analysts to join our Strategic Financial Planning and Reporting Team. These are pivotal roles at the centre of UKRI’s finances, working across the organisation and with our sponsoring department, DSIT, to deliver high-quality management information and strategic financial insight to senior decision-makers.
We are looking for candidates to play a hands-on role in managing monthly management accounts, quarterly forecasting cycles, and multi-year financial planning, while also contributing to a significant programme of systems transformation as UKRI transitions to Oracle Fusion Cloud, EPM and Power BI. This is a rare opportunity to help shape how financial reporting is done at one of the UK’s most important public bodies, not just maintain it.
Day to day you will work closely with Finance Business Partners across all nine councils, challenge and quality-assure financial returns, produce clear and compelling financial narratives for a range of audiences and act as a key liaison between UKRI and DSIT. There will also be real opportunity to deputise for senior colleagues and develop your knowledge of government finance in depth.
We are looking for qualified accountants (ACA, CIMA, ACCA, or CIPFA) or QBE, with strong management accounting and forecasting experience, advanced Excel skills and a genuine drive for continuous improvement. A proactive, solutions-focused mindset and strong stakeholder skills are essential.
Why Work for UKRI?
UKRI offers a genuinely compelling employment package, combining strong financial benefits with a culture that values wellbeing, development and work-life balance. They offer a valuable defined benefit pension scheme, 30 days of annual leave in addition to 10.5 public and privilege days per year (full time equivalent), flexible working options including hybrid working, family leave of up to 26 weeks, season ticket loans, employee discount offers, a cycle to work scheme and more. UKRI is also committed to supporting employees’ development and promotes a culture of continuous learning.
UKRI have partnered with Archer Mac on these brilliant opportunities, please do get in touch should you want an informal conversation or details on how to apply.
