Hays are working exclusively with this ambitious business as they look to welcome an experienced Credit Controller / Sales Ledger Clerk to their finance team in Telford. This is a fantastic opportunity to become part of a company that values its people and continues to expand year-on-year.

Your new role
Working as part of a friendly and collaborative finance team, you’ll support the Senior Credit Controller and take ownership of a variety of essential credit control and sales ledger responsibilities, including:
*Bank receipt processing - posting receipts into Sage accurately and on time.
*Debt management - proactively chasing overdue invoices by phone and email, keeping clear and detailed correspondence notes.
*Customer query resolution - investigating and resolving issues promptly, liaising with internal teams to ensure a smooth and positive customer experience.
*Invoice raising - creating customer invoices and checking nominal codes before posting to Sage.
*Credit note processing - raising credit notes with full accuracy and correct coding.
*System updates - updating the internal IMS with Sage invoice numbers.
*Document management - saving invoices correctly within shared project folders.
*Audit support - assisting with audit requests as required.
*Ad-hoc finance tasks - providing flexible support across the team when needed.


What you’ll need to succeed
You’ll bring solid experience in credit control and sales ledger work, along with the confidence to thrive in a busy, fast-moving environment. Key strengths include:
*Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
*Strong communication skills and a professional, customer-focused approach
*Ability to resolve queries efficiently and build positive working relationships
*Good IT capability, including financial systems and Microsoft Office
*Experience using Sage is highly advantageous
