Our client is a well-established and expanding firm of Chartered Accountants that continues to attract an impressive and varied client base across the South East. As the practice continues to grow, they are looking to appoint an Accounts & Audit Senior who enjoys working directly with clients and is keen to develop into a future management role.
This position provides an excellent balance of audit, accounts preparation and advisory work, giving you exposure to a wide range of businesses whilst allowing you to build your technical knowledge and commercial awareness.
The OpportunityYou’ll become an important member of a collaborative team, working with clients from a broad range of industries. No two days are the same, with responsibilities split across audit engagements, financial reporting and providing practical support to business owners throughout the year.
You’ll also have the opportunity to work closely with experienced Managers and Partners, gaining exposure to more complex assignments as your experience develops.
Typical Duties*Delivering external audit assignments for a broad range of SME and corporate clients.
*Producing year-end financial statements in line with UK accounting standards.
*Assisting with business and corporation tax compliance where appropriate.
*Working directly with clients to resolve accounting queries and provide practical guidance.
*Analysing financial information and identifying areas of commercial risk or improvement.
*Supporting junior accountants by sharing knowledge and reviewing work where appropriate.
*Contributing to advisory projects including business planning, financial reporting and process improvements.
*Ensuring assignments are completed efficiently whilst maintaining a high standard of client service.
About YouWe’re keen to hear from candidates who have gained experience within a UK accountancy practice and are looking to continue building their career in a supportive environment.
Applications are welcomed from ACA or ACCA part-qualified, finalists or recently qualified accountants with previous exposure to both audit and accounts preparation.
You’ll be organised, proactive and enjoy building lasting relationships with clients whilst working as part of a collaborative team. Experience with cloud accounting platforms and practice software such as Xero, Sage, IRIS, CCH or similar systems would be advantageous.
