Have you recently completed a finance degree and want to start putting theory into practice? We are pleased to be partnering with a highly regarded client to recruit an Accounts Payable Assistant on a fixed term contract. Our client has a genuine commitment to nurturing graduate talent and building the finance professionals of tomorrow.
This is a superb entry point for a finance graduate keen to establish strong technical foundations, gain real transactional experience and grow within a structured and supportive business.
The Role
You will join a well-established finance team and play a key role in keeping daily operations ticking over. Your duties will include:
*Requesting monthly account statements from stock suppliers and following up on any missing paperwork
*Matching invoices and credit notes to supplier statements to confirm accuracy
*Raising query sheets where invoices are disputed or incorrect
*Reconciling supplier statements against internal records and preparing payment runs
*Assisting the Finance Manager with cash postings and general administrative tasks
*Answering incoming supplier calls and routing queries to the appropriate teams
About You
You will have a degree in Finance, Accounting or a related subject and be ready to apply what you have learnt in a commercial environment. You will also be:
*Well organised with excellent attention to detail
*A strong communicator, both in writing and over the phone
*Proactive, enthusiastic and hungry to develop
*Equally comfortable working on your own initiative and within a close-knit team
*Confident in your grasp of core accounting principles
*Competent with Microsoft Office, especially Excel
