The Role
Reporting to the Service Director for Planning, Regeneration & Transport, you will:
*Provide strategic leadership and management of the Council’s high-performing Regeneration Service.
*Lead the delivery of complex regeneration programmes and major capital projects.
*Develop and implement regeneration strategies, investment plans, and place-based initiatives.
*Provide expert strategic advice to senior leadership, elected Members, and key stakeholders.
*Build and maintain effective partnerships across the public, private, and voluntary sectors.
*Oversee service budgets, ensuring sound financial management and value for money.
*Drive continuous service improvement, innovation, and the successful delivery of corporate priorities.
About You
To be successful, you will demonstrate:
*Significant senior leadership experience within regeneration, economic development, or a closely related field.
*A proven track record of delivering large-scale regeneration programmes and place-shaping initiatives.
*A strong understanding of local government, governance, and the political environment.
*Experience of developing strategy, leading organisational change, and driving service transformation.
*Strong financial management skills, including budget oversight and resource planning.
*Excellent stakeholder engagement, partnership-building, negotiation, and communication skills.
*A relevant professional qualification or substantial equivalent experience.
