Creative Support is a not-for-profit organisation which provides high quality, person-centred support to people with physical disabilities, learning disabilities, mental health needs and dementia. The support we offer is tailored to the individual client’s needs and encourages independence and community engagement.
We are seeking a warm, compassionate and proactive leader to provide person-centered care and support to our services users. You will be based in vibrant, multi-cultural Brent and support with the operational management for three of Extra Care services – Beechwood Court (Wembley), Tulsi House (Sudbury) and Harrod Court (Kingsbury). Clients that draw on care may have dementia, mental health needs, physical disabilities, learning disabilities and complex health needs. All three services focus on providing integrated, holistic care and support to older people with care and support needs.
You will collaborate with the Social Services and other stakeholders to ensure that the highest care standards are met. You will ensure an empowering service which meets the needs of our clients and works with their families and friends to promote a positive atmosphere. The ability to work in an empathic and holistic way to maintain client orientation and independence is essential. You must be flexible, energetic and reliable. We are a local provider employing a diverse team of over 100 well-supported staff to deliver great services.
You must be willing to embrace all aspects of the role including, but not limited to, providing support with dignified personal care and domestic tasks, and supporting individuals to access work, education and social opportunities. We value the personal skills and interests you bring to the role and to the lives of the people we support, such as, sports and outdoor pursuits, creative arts, music, and cooking to name but a few. You will do at least two shifts per week on the rota working directly with clients. Whilst most hours will be delivered during the week days, you will be expected to work on weekends when required.
Previous practitioner or management experience in services for older people, people with dementia and memory loss is essential, alongside a warm, person-centered and respectful approach. You should ideally have a relevant professional qualification (e.g. Diploma in Social Work, RMN/RGN, NVQ 4/5) and/or a degree level or post-graduate qualification.
