Job Description:
Full job descriptionOur client is a leading global insurance company seeking a Claims Handler to join their team on a 12-month fixed-term contract, based in Croydon.
The ATE Claims team is responsible for assessing and managing indemnity provided to policyholders for the purpose of pursuing a range of legal actions, including personal injury, clinical negligence, professional negligence and insolvency. The ATE Legal Expenses Claims Handler will assess Legal Expenses Insurance (LEI) claims and ensure they are managed efficiently and fairly.
What you’ll be doing*Deliver an efficient and professional claims handling service by responding to claims using excellent written and verbal communication skills, in line with service standards and agreed service level requirements.
*Manage claims from initial notification through to conclusion, including investigating the validity of claims, gathering relevant evidence and assessing legal costs in accordance with policy terms and conditions.
*Calculate settlement values, issue payments for valid claims and escalate or decline complex or questionable claims where appropriate.
*Accurately capture and maintain claim information on internal systems.
*Liaise primarily with solicitors and, where required, costs lawyers throughout the claims process.
What we’re looking for*Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
*A naturally enquiring and analytical approach, with the ability to identify areas of challenge and confidently present reasoned arguments to legal professionals.
*Excellent time management skills, with the ability to manage an active caseload while meeting demanding service standards.
*Previous claims handling experience.
*Strong analytical skills.
*Previous experience within the insurance or legal sector is desirable.
