SparkEd Recruitment is partnering with a welcoming and forward-thinking specialist school in Plymouth to recruit Learning Mentors to work with students across Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 4.
This is a full-time role, Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 4:00pm, supporting children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) and Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. You’ll play a vital role in helping students overcome barriers to learning, develop positive relationships, and achieve their full potential.
Students may present with a range of SEMH needs, including:
*Challenging behaviour
*Anxiety
*Depression
*Trauma
We welcome applications from candidates with a variety of backgrounds and experience levels. While previous experience supporting children or young people with challenging behaviour is beneficial, it is not essential. What matters most is your commitment, resilience, and passion for making a positive difference.
About You
We’re looking for individuals who are:
*Compassionate, patient, and enthusiastic about supporting children with additional needs.
*Flexible, reliable, and able to build positive relationships with young people.
*Interested in working with children with SEND, including Autism and ADHD.
*Graduates or individuals with transferable experience in areas such as childcare, psychology, youth work, health and social care, or support work are encouraged to apply.
*No previous school experience is required, as full online training will be provided.
