About the Role
We are currently recruiting for a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join a well-established specialist secondary provision supporting students aged 11–16 with a range of additional needs.
The school supports pupils with autism, speech and language needs, moderate learning difficulties, and social, emotional, and mental health needs. All students have Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs), and the school prides itself on delivering highly personalised learning tailored to each individual.
This is a rewarding opportunity to work in a structured, supportive environment where the focus is on helping students build confidence, independence, and essential life skills alongside their academic development.
Key Responsibilities
*Provide 1:1 and small group support in and out of the classroom
*Support students with behaviour, emotional regulation, and communication needs
*Assist in delivering adapted lessons and engaging learning activities
*Help students develop independence and life skills
*Build positive, trusting relationships with pupils
*Support the implementation of EHCP targets and individual learning plans
*Work closely with teachers and wider professionals (e.g. therapists, SENCO)
*Maintain a safe, consistent, and inclusive learning environment
