Job Description:
Full job descriptionWe are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Payroll Advisor. This role plays a vital part in ensuring employees and pensioners are paid accurately and on time, while maintaining compliance with statutory requirements and internal policies. You will be working in a fast-paced environment, supporting both payroll and pensions processes and delivering a high-quality, customer-focused service.
Key Responsibilities:
*Collate, verify, and maintain employee and pension data across relevant systems, ensuring accuracy and timely payroll processing
*Process payroll and pensions activities in line with service standards, legislation, and company policies
*Handle and resolve payroll and pensions queries from employees, pensioners, and third parties, escalating where appropriate
*Administer and monitor payroll and pensions documentation to ensure processes are completed within agreed timelines
*Support compliance by adhering to HMRC and statutory requirements, ensuring all procedures are followed correctly
*Identify opportunities to improve payroll and pensions processes, particularly in response to legislative or policy changes
*Assist in implementing system or process updates to maintain efficiency and compliance
Skills & Experience:
*Previous experience in a payroll or payroll & pensions role
*Strong working knowledge of payroll processes and statutory requirements
*Proficient in Microsoft Excel, including functions such as VLOOKUP
*Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
*Ability to manage high volumes of work and meet deadlines
*Strong problem-solving and communication skills
*Customer-focused approach with the ability to handle sensitive information confidentially
