Full job descriptionResidential Support Worker - 3-bed Children’s Residential Home (EBD, 7-17 years old)
*Location: Coventry, West Midlands, UK
*Salary Range: £26,000 to £30,000 (dependent on experience and inclusive of sleep-in payments)
*Job Type: Full-time, Rolling Rota
This role offers a unique opportunity to be part of a team dedicated to child-centred practice and high-level care. Led by an experienced Registered Manager, this position is ideal for someone looking to make a significant impact in a supportive and dynamic environment.
Day-to-day of the role:
*Build positive, trusting relationships with children and young people, providing a nurturing and structured environment.
*Support daily routines including personal care, meals, activities, education, and health appointments.
*Engage in therapeutic and recreational activities that promote development and resilience.
*Apply consistent and appropriate boundaries and behaviour management strategies.
*Promote and safeguard the welfare of children and young people at all times.
*Work collaboratively with colleagues and external professionals.
*Contribute to the day-to-day running of the home, maintaining a safe, welcoming, and homely environment.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
*Experience working with children/young people with EBD and challenging behaviour
*Knowledge of safeguarding procedures.
*Ability to work as part of a team and independently.
*Good communication and interpersonal skills.
*Willingness to work shifts including evenings, weekends, and sleep-ins.
*Desirable: Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent), understanding of EBD and trauma-informed care, or willingness to work towards qualification within 2 years.
