The OpportunityWe’re looking for an experienced Senior React Developer to join a growing engineering team delivering secure, user-focused digital services for high-profile public sector programmes. This is an opportunity to work on modern, cloud-based applications that have a real impact, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams in an agile environment.
Based in Leeds, you’ll work on a hybrid basis, with occasional travel to customer sites as project requirements dictate.
The RoleAs a Senior React Developer, you’ll play a key role in designing and developing scalable front-end applications using modern JavaScript technologies. You’ll work closely with UX designers, back-end engineers, DevOps specialists and stakeholders to deliver high-quality solutions while mentoring junior developers and promoting engineering best practices.
Key responsibilities include:
*Developing responsive, accessible web applications using React and TypeScript.

*Building reusable components and scalable front-end architectures.

*Collaborating with back-end developers to integrate RESTful APIs and microservices.

*Writing clean, maintainable, and well-tested code.

*Participating in code reviews and driving engineering standards.

*Supporting CI/CD pipelines and modern development practices.

*Working within Agile delivery teams to deliver secure digital solutions.

*Mentoring junior developers and contributing to technical decision-making.

About YouYou’ll be a passionate front-end engineer with strong commercial experience delivering enterprise-scale React applications.
You’ll have experience with:
*React.js and TypeScript.

*Modern JavaScript (ES6+), HTML5 and CSS3.

*State management libraries such as Redux or Context API.

*REST APIs and asynchronous programming.

*Testing frameworks such as Jest and React Testing Library.

*Git and collaborative development workflows.

*Agile/Scrum delivery environments.

*CI/CD pipelines and modern software engineering practices.

Desirable experience includes:
*Next.js.

*Node.js.

*Cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure.

*Docker and Kubernetes.

*Government Digital Service (GDS) standards.

*Accessibility (WCAG) best practices.
