Job Description:
Full job description Aurora Charnwood School is opening its doors in late 2026 (tbc) and will be a nurturing, inclusive and ambitious hub for children and young people aged 5–19 with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs and Communication and Interaction. With a capacity of 120 students across 3 sites, our vision is to create a safe, enriching and aspirational environment where every learner can thrive.
We are currently looking to recruit a School Cleaner provide a cleaning service for the school across all types of rooms, including offices, classrooms, corridors, and toilets.
Key Duties:
*Vacuuming/cleaning floors.
*Spot cleaning of spillages.
*Wiping furniture, ledges, pipes, paintwork, doors and polishing door glass.
*Emptying and cleaning bins (daily).
*Cleaning toilets including sanitary fittings and surrounds.
*Mopping and spray cleaning hard floor surfaces.
*Wiping, dusting, cobweb removal, polishing.
*Replenishing janitorial supplies in toilets, etc (daily).
*Undertake deep clean as and when required.
*Checking and closing windows, switching off lights after work and ensure the building is secure on exit.
*Such other duties as may be allocated from time to time.
Like many SEN environments; your duties are likely to vary and therefore candidates will need to be flexible and be able to lend a hand whenever required.
Duties will vary, you must expect to diversify and lend a hand wherever is required. Please see the attachments for our full job description.
Skills and Qualifications:
Successful candidates are likely to demonstrate:
*Knowledge of Health and Safety Regulation in regard to cleaning equipment and cleaning materials.
*Ability to work effectively and supportively as a member of the school team.
*Ability to work with minimum supervision.
*Ability to prioritise work and be flexible.
*Experience of undertaking a range of cleaning duties
