Full job descriptionAssistant Housing Solutions OfficerWe are currently recruiting for 7 Assistant Housing Solutions Officers to join a busy Local Authority Housing Needs & Support team. This is an excellent opportunity for experienced housing professionals who are passionate about preventing homelessness and delivering high-quality advice and support to residents.
Working within a fast-paced statutory housing environment, you will play a key role in helping residents access suitable accommodation, prevent homelessness, and achieve positive housing outcomes.
Key Responsibilities*Deliver high-quality housing advice and homelessness prevention services.
*Assess housing needs and identify appropriate housing solutions.
*Complete housing needs assessments and contribute to Personalised Housing Plans.
*Support the delivery of statutory homelessness duties under relevant housing legislation.
*Prepare decision letters, referrals, case notes and statutory correspondence.
*Assist residents in accessing housing through allocations and choice-based lettings.
*Liaise with internal departments and external agencies to secure positive outcomes.
*Maintain accurate case records and manage a varied caseload.
*Provide excellent customer service while supporting vulnerable residents.
Essential ExperienceWe’re looking for candidates with:
*Previous experience working within Housing Options, Homelessness Prevention or a Local Authority Housing service.
*Knowledge of the Housing Act 1996, Homelessness Reduction Act 2017 and related housing legislation.
*Experience providing advice and support to members of the public.
*Strong communication, negotiation and case management skills.
*The ability to produce clear written correspondence and maintain accurate records.
*Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities.
*Confidence using IT systems including Microsoft Office and case management databases.
Contract Details*Rate: £172 per day (Umbrella)
*Hours: 36 hours per week
*Working Pattern: Monday to Friday, 9:00am – 5:00pm
*Hybrid: 3 days per week in the office
*Vacancies: 7
