Contract role, Legal Services Department
Pertemps are recruiting for an experienced Senior Lawyer (Children & Families Legal) in the Manchester area
We are currently seeking a Senior Lawyer (Children & Families Legal) to join the Legal Services Department at Manchester City Council.
The role involves:
* Working within our Public Law subgroup, managing a busy caseload primarily consisting of Section 31 and DoLS matters.
* You will be supported by a Legal Officer (two Lawyers to one Legal Officer), who will assist with drafting documents, requesting evidence, seeking instructions, and other case management tasks. In addition, we have a dedicated Children’s Business Support team that manages bundling and administrative responsibilities.
Contract Details:
*Duration: 6 months and likely to be extended
*Working Hours: Full-time, 35 hours per week (Monday to Friday)
*Lunch Break: 30 minutes (unpaid)
*Working Arrangement: While some office presence would be preferred, we are open to fully remote arrangements
*Location: Town Hall Extension
*Pay Rate: £60 per hour
Qualifications/Experience Required:
*CILEX with Advocacy Certificate
*Barrister with Litigation Conduct Authorisation
*Solicitior
*Practicing Certificate
