Job Description:
Full job descriptionJoin our dedicated team in the Children and Families service, where you will play a crucial role as a Deputy Practice Manager. This position involves assisting in the day-to-day management of one or two Neighbourhood Teams, supporting families with complex needs and working within a multi-agency framework to champion and advocate for improved aspirations and outcomes.
Day-to-day of the role:*Assist the Family Help Practice Manager in ensuring the delivery of a high-performing, quality, and effective service to children and families.
*Manage the team’s workload, take responsibility for complex cases, and deputise for the Family Help Practice Manager as needed.
*Develop action plans with families, coaching, challenging, and supporting them to build resilience within families and communities.
*Foster positive relationships with children and families, supporting staff to develop and strengthen family networks.
*Implement legislation and government guidance related to statutory and local performance indicators.
*Promote high standards in the use of the Early Help Framework, ensuring that the practice model is incorporated within evidence-based assessments and interventions.
*Supervise and support locality staff through the My Time / My Time Extra process in the preparation of assessments and effective case management meeting quality assurance standards.
*Assist with financial decisions for the Locality budget, ensuring services provided by the team remain within budget constraints.
*Ensure compliance with GDPR guidelines by regularly reviewing and appropriately destroying data in line with retention schedules.
Required Skills & Qualifications:*Qualified in one of the caring professions, with a relevant Level 4 qualification or equivalent experience working with children and families with complex needs.
*Evidence of a management qualification or willingness to work towards one.
*Supervisory experience in managing inspected services.
*Commitment to continuous professional development, with completed additional training in safeguarding, family and/or parenting support, health, and education.
*Strong understanding of current developments in the delivery of integrated services to children, young people, and their families.
*Ability to develop effective working relationships with colleagues and other agencies.
*Flexibility and positive response to change.
*Highly developed influencing and negotiation skills.
*In-depth knowledge of the legislative frameworks associated with working with children, young people, and families.
*Valid driving license or ability to travel effectively using own or public transport.
*Willingness to work flexibly, including evenings and weekends when necessary.
