Location: Hybrid Working Available
Salary: £30,000 - £40,000 (pro rata)
3-Month Fixed-Term Contract
Our client is seeking an experienced Finance Assistant to join their finance team on a 3-month fixed-term contract. This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on finance professional with strong bookkeeping experience to support the day-to-day finance function within a busy and fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
*Manage day-to-day bookkeeping activities and maintain accurate financial records
*Perform bank reconciliations and investigate any discrepancies
*Support credit control activities and monitor outstanding balances
*Prepare and submit VAT returns
*Process accruals and prepayments as part of the month-end process
*Assist with payroll administration and related finance tasks
*Support the wider finance team with ad hoc reporting and analysis
*Help maintain and improve finance processes where appropriate
Role Requirements:
*Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a Finance Assistant or similar role
*Good all-round bookkeeping knowledge and experience
*Previous experience with bank reconciliations, VAT returns, accruals and prepayments
*Exposure to payroll processes would be advantageous
*Experience using Xero and strong Excel skills
*Strong attention to detail with good organisational skills
*Able to work independently and manage workload effectively within a short-term contract environment
