Location: Chester
Hours: Part-Time (16–24 hours per week, flexible)
Salary: £28,000–£35,000 FTE (pro rata), depending on experience
Our client, a busy and well-established accountancy practice, is seeking an experienced Part-Time Bookkeeper to join their team. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated and organised individual looking for flexible working hours within a professional practice environment.
Please note: Previous experience working within an accountancy practice is essential for this role.
Key Responsibilities:
*Managing bookkeeping for a portfolio of clients across a range of industries.
*Processing purchase and sales invoices.
*Completing bank and credit card reconciliations.
*Preparing and submitting VAT returns.
*Maintaining accurate financial records using cloud-based accounting software, including Xero, QuickBooks and Sage.
*Assisting with management accounts and year-end preparation.
*Liaising directly with clients to resolve bookkeeping queries and provide ongoing support.
*Ensuring work is completed accurately and within agreed deadlines.
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
*Previous bookkeeping experience within an accountancy practice (essential).
*Strong working knowledge of Xero, QuickBooks and/or Sage.
*A solid understanding of VAT and double-entry bookkeeping.
*Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
*Strong communication and client relationship skills.
*The ability to manage multiple client deadlines and work independently.
*An AAT qualification or equivalent would be advantageous.
