Stockport | Permanent | Monday – Friday | 08:00 – 16:00
Reed Recruitment are recruiting on behalf of a long-established global manufacturing business based in Stockport, who are looking to appoint an experienced Dispatch Supervisor to lead their dispatch function and support the continued growth of the operation.
Our client is a specialist manufacturer supplying products to customers worldwide across a diverse range of industries including packaging, consumer goods, industrial manufacturing, automotive and commercial printing. With a strong reputation for quality, innovation and customer service, they have built a loyal workforce with many employees enjoying long and successful careers within the business. The company operates internationally from its Stockport manufacturing and distribution facility.

Key Responsibilities
*Supervise and support the daily activities of the dispatch team
*Allocate workloads and monitor performance to ensure operational targets are achieved
*Coordinate order priorities with Customer Service and Shipping departments
*Produce and manage dispatch documentation, delivery notes and consignment records
*Ensure all orders are picked, packed and labelled accurately in line with customer requirements
*Maintain product traceability and stock accuracy
*Manage stock rotation and inventory movements through the ERP system
*Create batch tickets and arrange relabelling activities when required
*Print and request product labels, ensuring correct product codes, descriptions and batch information
*Load and unload vehicles using a Counterbalance Forklift Truck when required
*Assist customers and visitors in a professional and courteous manner
*Support performance management activities, including coaching and development of team members
*Promote and enforce company health and safety procedures
*Support continuous improvement activities across the warehouse and dispatch operation
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
*Previous supervisory experience within a warehouse, logistics or dispatch environment
*An externally accredited Counterbalance FLT licence (expired will still be considered if external)
*Experience coordinating pick, pack and dispatch operations
*Strong administrative and organisational skills
*Good IT skills, including experience using ERP systems and Microsoft Office
*Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
*The ability to prioritise workload and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
*Strong communication and leadership skills
*A proactive and hands-on approach to problem solving
Desirable Experience
*Manufacturing or industrial environment experience
*Knowledge of shipping documentation and export dispatch activities
*Experience using ERP systems or similar warehouse management software
