Location: Totton
Pay: £30,000 per annum
Hours: Full-time, Permanent – 45 hours per week (15-hour day shifts)
Driving Licence: Desirable
The Role
Our client is currently recruiting passionate and dedicated Children’s Support Workers to join their residential home in Totton, supporting children and young people with emotional and behavioural difficulties and autism.
This is a rewarding opportunity to make a genuine difference by providing a safe, nurturing and supportive home environment where children and young people can develop confidence, independence and essential life skills whilst receiving high-quality care.
Essential Requirements:
*Right to work in the UK (proof required)
*GCSE Grade C/Level 4 or above in Maths and English (or equivalent)
*Minimum of 6 months’ experience working with children and/or young people
*Computer literate with good written and verbal communication skills
*Willingness to complete the Level 4 Diploma in Residential Childcare (if not already achieved) within two years of employment
*Willingness to undergo enhanced DBS checks, satisfactory references and safer recruitment checks
*Compassionate, resilient and professional approach
*Ability to work independently and as part of a team
*Flexibility to work shifts, including weekends
Key Responsibilities:
*Providing a safe, stable and nurturing home environment for children and young people.
*Supporting children with their emotional, social and personal development.
*Managing challenging behaviours using positive and therapeutic approaches.
*Promoting education, independence and the development of daily living skills.
*Acting as a Key Worker and contributing to individual care plans and risk assessments.
*Encouraging participation in activities that promote confidence, wellbeing and personal growth.
*Maintaining accurate records and documentation in line with organisational and Ofsted requirements.
*Working collaboratively with colleagues and external professionals to deliver outstanding care.
*Promoting the health, safety and overall wellbeing of the children and young people in your care.
