Pay: £12.71 - £13.50 per hour (depending on experience)
Hours of Work: Monday to Friday- 8am to 2.30pm

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Sewing Machinist to join a busy manufacturing team producing high-quality upholstered furniture. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who has excellent attention to detail, and enjoys working in a fast-paced production environment. Successful candidate will have previous experience using industrial sewing machines and be confident sewing a range of upholstery fabrics and materials to a consistently high standard. Experience within the furniture or upholstery industry is highly desirable, although candidates with strong industrial sewing experience from other manufacturing sectors will also be considered.


Key Responsibilities:
*Operate a range of industrial sewing machines safely and efficiently.
*Sew fabric, leather, and other upholstery materials to production specifications.
*Assemble and stitch furniture covers and upholstery components with precision.
*Read and interpret production drawings, patterns, and work instructions.
*Carry out quality checks throughout the sewing process to ensure products meet company standards.
*Identify and report any material defects or quality concerns.
*Work closely with upholsterers and other production team members to ensure smooth workflow.
*Meet daily production targets while maintaining exceptional quality.
*Perform basic machine maintenance, including cleaning and changing needles where required.
*Maintain a clean, safe, and organised work area in line with health and safety procedures.
Requirements:
*Previous experience operating industrial sewing machines is essential.
*Experience sewing upholstery, furniture, or heavy-duty fabrics is preferred.
*Furniture manufacturing experience is highly advantageous.
*Strong attention to detail and pride in producing high-quality workmanship.
*Ability to work from patterns, measurements, and production instructions.
*Good hand-eye coordination and excellent manual dexterity.
*Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
*Reliable, hardworking, and able to work efficiently to production deadlines.
*Positive attitude with a willingness to learn and develop new skills.
