*Location: Exeter, UK
*Job Type: Full-time
*Salary: £12.71 per hour, 39 hours per week
Join the team as a Yard Operative, where you will work under the direction of the Foreman & Branch Manager to support the successful operation of the business. This role involves the delivery and collection of equipment to customer sites, ensuring efficient and safe operations. We offer a competitive wage, quarterly bonus, and a comprehensive benefits package.
Day-to-day of the role:
*Be part of a small team ensuring the delivery and collection of equipment to and from customer sites or other branches.
*Comply with the company’s Health and Safety procedures in all yard operations.
*Report any matters affecting Health and Safety immediately to the Foreman & Branch Manager.
*Deal courteously with customers, visitors, and drivers, ensuring they report to the branch office upon arrival.
*Manage all deliveries and returns with accompanying paperwork.
*Carry out loading and unloading instructions safely in line with the Company’s Health and Safety Policy and the necessary Risk Assessments.
*Check all equipment for quality and quantity on both returns and deliveries.
*Assist the Yard Foreman in monitoring stock/fleet levels, notifying any discrepancies/shortfalls to Branch administration staff.
*Conduct stock-takes in line with Company procedures.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
*Right to work in the UK (Note: We cannot sponsor this vacancy).
*Strong commitment to safety and adherence to Health and Safety regulations.
*Excellent communication skills and customer service orientation.
*Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
*Physically capable of managing manual tasks including loading and unloading equipment.
