Job Description:
Full job descriptionOur client are a small, growing international freight forwarder, located in Egham, Surrey. They are looking for a full time Financial Controller to help assist with day to day financial recordkeeping.
The candidate should have good all-round experience in all aspects of bookkeeping and be familiar with Sage. AAT qualification desirable but not essential. Experience in a freight forwarding background and Boxtop would be beneficial.
Sales
· Credit control
· Sending statements to customers
· Credit checks & setting credit limits
Purchase
· Checking statements and making payments to suppliers
· Overseas payments via FX account
· Forward contracts on USD & EUR
· Reconcile bank statements, supplier statements, HMRC Deferment statements - just about everything really
· Passing supplier invoices
Company
· Controlling cash flow
· Daily transfer of data from Boxtop to Sage
· Update rates of exchange on Boxtop
· Ensuring there are no or very minimal r/ex losses
· Year-end figures / preparation of accounts before presentation to accountants.
· Checking final accounts before they are filed to Companies House
Reporting
· Monthly profit reporting to MD
· Other reports as requested by MD
Government
· VAT returns
· Other as necessary
Sales invoices are prepared by operations staff
Hours of work 0900-1730hrs Monday to Friday, in the office.
Salary up to £40K depending on previous experience
