Job Description:
Full job descriptionThis privately owned company is a leading supplier of specialist equipment, helping customers make their processes more efficient across a range of different industries. Well established in their field, they work with a range of manufacturers and are able to provide technical support, installation and maintenance services to their customers which ensures a lot of repeat business and stable order book.
As part of their longer term planning they have identified a new vacancy in their accounts department for a Finance Manager, the role will report into the Directors and will be responsible a small team of two staff ensuring all accounting and finance matters are recorded accurately. This will be a varied role and would suit someone with experience of the range of duties associated with a similar position at an SME business.
Key responsibilities:
• Prepare Trial Balance, balance sheet rec’s and quarterly Management Accounts
• Monitor cashflow and process foreign currency transactions
• Provide forecasts and monitor contracts / WIP milestones
• Prepare VAT return, year-end accounts and run annual audit
• Process monthly salaries, expenses and credit card transactions
• Arrange payments of NI and PAYE to HMRC
• Prepare summary and analysis of sales and profit margins
• Monitor stock, fixed assets and machinery depreciation
• Provide financial data for internal reporting and analysis schedules
• Process payments to suppliers, cashbook analysis and journals
• Triage IT problems and contact outsourced suppliers if necessary
• Liaise with advisers at banks, insurance, pension providers etc
The role requires someone who is a good communicator able to integrate into a small site team of circa 40 FTE’s. The role will be office based and requires someone who is flexible and hands on. Knowledge of SAGE accounting systems, preferably SAGE 200 would be advantageous. Good general IT systems knowledge would also be an advantage.
This position would suit an experienced Management Accountant looking to step up into a Finance Manager role, or an experienced Company Accountant / Finance Manager looking for a new challenge in a stable company.
