An established and growing accountancy practice is looking to appoint an experienced Practice Accountant to join its friendly and collaborative team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys the variety of general practice, managing a diverse portfolio of sole traders, partnerships and limited companies while delivering a high-quality service across accounts, tax and business advisory, with the opportunity to support mentor junior team members as your career progresses.
Responsibilities:
As a Practice Accountant, you will be…
*Preparing year-end accounts for sole traders, partnerships and limited companies.
*Producing and submitting Self Assessment and Corporation Tax returns.
*Preparing and reviewing VAT returns, ensuring compliance with current legislation.
*Processing payroll and handling PAYE-related matters.
*Providing clients with day-to-day accounting, tax and business advice.
*Building and maintaining strong client relationships, responding to queries professionally and efficiently.
*Using cloud-based accounting software including Xero, Sage and QuickBooks to maintain accurate financial records.
*Supporting and mentoring junior members of the team where required.
Requirements:
As a Practice Accountant, you will need...
*ACA or ACCA qualified or equivalent
*Have recent experience working within an accountancy practice.
*Be confident preparing statutory accounts, Self Assessment and Corporation Tax returns.
*Have a solid understanding of VAT, payroll and general practice compliance.
