We are seeking a dedicated Caretaker to provide top-notch caretaking, cleaning, security, and facilities management services across high-rise residential buildings. This role is crucial in maintaining safe, clean, and welcoming communal areas and facilities, acting as a key point of contact for residents, and ensuring compliance with health and safety standards.
Day-to-day of the role:
*Cleaning and Building Maintenance: Maintain communal areas, buildings, and grounds to high standards. Conduct comprehensive cleaning and janitorial services, and carry out regular inspections to report any defects.
*Health, Safety, and Security: Manage daily building safety, perform risk assessments, and ensure all compliance checks are completed. Act as a key holder and conduct fire safety inspections and other safety checks.
*Repairs and Contractor Management: Report and monitor repair requests, liaise with contractors, and ensure maintenance works are completed timely and efficiently.
*Resident Services: Provide responsive and professional service to residents, handle enquiries, and promote community engagement initiatives.
*Estate and Environmental Management: Maintain waste disposal areas and support the upkeep of communal gardens and green spaces.
*Administrative Responsibilities: Keep accurate records of repairs, inspections, and compliance activities using relevant systems.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
*Proven experience in cleaning, caretaking, facilities management, or estate services.
*Strong understanding of health and safety responsibilities in a residential or public-facing environment.
*Skilled in conducting inspections and identifying maintenance, security, or safety issues.
*Excellent customer service and communication skills.
*Proficient in maintaining accurate records and using basic IT systems.
*Ability to work independently and manage a varied workload.
*Full UK Driving Licence and access to a vehicle.
Desirable:
*Experience in housing or local government services.
*Knowledge of fire safety procedures and building compliance requirements.
*Experience working with contractors and residents in a residential environment.
