Job Description:
Full job descriptionJOB TITLE: Assembly Department Supervisor (Temp)
HOURS: Monday to Friday.
LOCATION: Horley
JOB TYPE: Temporary.
Key Responsibilities
*Assemble, fit, and modify machinery, components, and fixtures in line with technical drawings, procedures, and quality standards.
*Support the daily running of the Assembly Department and assist with meeting production deadlines.
*Ensure targets and departmental objectives are achieved.
*Monitor the quality of completed work and report any issues or improvements required.
*Identify and highlight any drawing, process, or assembly improvements.
*Provide guidance and support to colleagues within the department.
*Ensure compliance with company health and safety procedures and internal processes.
*Maintain a clean, organised, and efficient working environment.
Main Duties
*Complete mechanical assembly tasks accurately and within agreed timescales.
*Use workshop equipment including drills, lathes, milling machines, and grinding equipment.
*Manufacture or modify tools and components where required.
*Complete wiring and fitting of electrical components where necessary.
*Maintain tooling, equipment, and work areas to a high standard.
*Assist with stock checks and inventory control.
*Complete all relevant documentation, including timesheets, work orders, and production records.
*Communicate effectively with colleagues and other departments.
*Support continuous improvement activities within the department.
*Undertake any other reasonable duties required to support the business.
Skills & Experience
*Previous experience within an engineering, manufacturing, assembly, or production environment.
*Strong mechanical assembly skills with the ability to interpret technical drawings.
*Experience using workshop machinery and hand tools.
