We are seeking an ambitious and motivated Employment Solicitor (2–3 years PQE) to join a well-established and growing law firm. This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified lawyer looking to develop their career within a supportive environment, handling a varied caseload while providing high-quality legal advice to a diverse client base.
The successful candidate will advise both employers and employees on a broad range of employment law matters, delivering practical, commercially focused solutions and exceptional client service.
Key Responsibilities
Advise clients on a wide range of employment law matters, including:
Restrictive covenants
Unfair dismissal
Discrimination
Redundancy
Whistleblowing
TUPE transfers
Draft, review and negotiate settlement agreements.
Manage a varied caseload from initial instruction through to completion.
Ensure client matters are progressed efficiently while providing regular updates on progress and costs.
Deliver clear, commercially focused legal advice tailored to individual client needs.
Maintain the highest standards of client confidentiality and data security.
Achieve agreed financial targets, including fee income and chargeable hours.
Work closely with the firm’s Credit Control team to support effective billing and debt management.
Build and maintain strong working relationships with colleagues, clients and external organisations.
Keep accurate case files and ensure compliance with regulatory and professional standards.
Take ownership of your professional development, maintaining compliance with the Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA) and Law Society continuing professional development requirements.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
Qualified Solicitor with 2–3 years’ Post-Qualified Experience (PQE) in Employment Law.
Strong knowledge of UK employment legislation and case law.
Experience advising on settlement agreements.
Excellent drafting, negotiation and advocacy skills.
Ability to manage a busy and varied caseload with minimal supervision.
Strong commercial awareness and the ability to provide practical legal solutions.
Exceptional client care and communication skills.
Excellent organisational and time management skills with the ability to meet deadlines.
A proactive, self-motivated and results-driven approach.
Commitment to delivering outstanding client service.
