Full job descriptionThe Recruitment Crowd are currently recruiting on behalf of our well known and industry-leading client based in Wolverhampton area. We are looking for an experienced Class 1 Shunter to join the team on nights.
Hours: Monday to Friday, 18:00pm start
Location: Wolverhampton, WV4
Pay: £19.17 per hour PAYE
Job Type: Temp to perm
The role:
*Perform shunting of trailers within the yard to ensure efficient operations – please note that drivers will be required to conduct duties between two other locations close by (WV14 & WV4)
*Safely maneuver vehicles in tight and busy spaces.
*Conduct pre and post operation vehicle inspections to ensure safety and reliability.
*Adhere to all health and safety regulations and procedures.
*Coordinate with the yard and dispatch teams to maintain seamless workflow.
*Report any defects or issues promptly to the maintenance team.
*Maintain accurate records of shunting activities and vehicle movements.
*Assist with other yard duties as needed.
Requirements:
*Full UK driving licence with Class 1 entitlement (category C&E).
*2 years’ experience required
*Tug experience is preferred but not essential as training will be provided
*Valid and in date DCPC and Digital Tachograph card.
*No more than 6 points on licence (minor offences only).
*Full understanding of WTD legislation.
*Be prepared to undertake a short driving assessment for the position.
*Excellent communication skills.
*A safety-first mindset.
