Full job descriptionWe are looking for a Financial Controller to join our Client in their expanding and well-established business.


What You’ll Be Doing:
• Leading the day-to-day management of the finance function, ensuring robust financial controls and accurate reporting
• Preparing and overseeing monthly management accounts, financial reports, and budgets
• Managing cash flow, working capital, and financial planning activities
• Developing and maintaining effective financial controls, processes, and systems
• Overseeing payroll, VAT returns, CIS reporting, and statutory compliance requirements
• Monitoring project and contract performance, providing financial analysis and recommendations to senior management
• Managing WIP reporting, revenue recognition, and payment applications in line with accounting standards
• Supporting the preparation of annual budgets, forecasts, and long-term financial plans
• Liaising with external auditors, accountants, banks, and other professional advisers
• Mentoring, developing, and managing members of the finance team
• Providing strategic financial insight to support commercial decision-making and business growth
• Identifying and managing financial and operational risks across the business


What We’re Looking For:
• ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent professionally qualified
• Proven experience as a Financial Controller, Senior Finance Manager, or similar leadership role
• Experience within the construction, contracting, engineering, or project-based sectors is highly desirable
• Strong knowledge of financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management
• Experience with WIP reporting, project accounting, revenue recognition, and payment applications
• Strong leadership and people management skills with experience developing finance teams
• Proficient in Xero, Construction Manager, and Microsoft Excel
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to present financial information to both financial and non-financial stakeholders
• Commercially minded with strong analytical, organisational, and problem-solving abilities
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and support senior leadership with strategic decision-making
