Help give babies the very best start in life.
The first two years of a child’s life are filled with moments that shape their future. Every smile, cuddle, story and milestone helps build their confidence, curiosity and sense of security.
At Big Yellow Door Nursery, we don’t just provide childcare-we create a safe, loving environment where babies feel secure, families feel supported and our team feel proud of the difference they make every single day.
We’re looking for exceptional Early Years Practitioners who share our passion for giving every baby the very best start in life. If you love working with babies, enjoy building meaningful relationships with families and want to work in a nursery where quality care always comes first, we’d love to hear from you.
About Big Yellow Door
Big Yellow Door is a unique, privately owned nursery dedicated exclusively to caring for children aged 0-24 months. Situated within the beautiful grounds of a prestigious school, the nursery offers an exceptional environment where babies can learn, explore and thrive through nurturing care, sensory experiences and outdoor play.
Following new funding and an exciting expansion project launching this September, we’re looking to welcome several new practitioners into our close-knit team.
With small baby groups, excellent staff-to-child ratios and a calm, structured environment, you’ll have the opportunity to build meaningful relationships with every child while being supported by experienced leaders who are passionate about early years education.
This vacancy is being managed exclusively by Shillito Group on behalf of Big Yellow Door Nursery.
Why our team loves working here
We know that outstanding childcare starts with a team who feel supported, appreciated and able to do their best work every day. That’s why we’ve created an environment where both our children and our colleagues can thrive.
You’ll benefit from:
*Genuine 4-day working week for a healthier work-life balance.
*£13.00-£14.50 per hour, depending on qualifications and experience.
*Small baby groups with excellent staff-to-child ratios.
*The opportunity to work exclusively with babies aged 0-24 months.
*Fully funded professional development through the NDNA.
*Specialist training in additional needs and medical care.
*Supportive leadership that invests in your development.
*Generous nursery closures, including one week in August, two weeks at Christmas and additional flexible annual leave.
*A beautiful setting with opportunities for outdoor learning every day.
A day in your role
Every day begins with the same goal: helping babies feel safe, loved and ready to learn.
You’ll welcome children into a nurturing environment where they can explore through sensory play, music, stories, outdoor experiences and meaningful interactions. Along the way, you’ll celebrate milestones, offer reassurance when it’s needed and help build the confidence and independence that comes from feeling secure.
Working closely with your colleagues and parents, you’ll play an important role in giving every child the very best start in life.
Your responsibilities will include:
*Delivering exceptional care tailored to each child’s individual needs.
*Supporting learning and development in line with the EYFS framework.
*Planning engaging play experiences that encourage curiosity and development.
*Building positive relationships with parents and carers.
*Maintaining the highest standards of safeguarding and wellbeing.
*Working collaboratively with colleagues to deliver an outstanding nursery experience.
About You
We’re looking for someone who is kind, patient and passionate about making a positive difference during the earliest stages of a child’s development.
You’ll have:
*A Level 2 or Level 3 Early Years qualification.
*Experience working within an Early Years setting.
*A good understanding of the EYFS framework.
*Paediatric First Aid and Safeguarding Level 2 or 3 (or willingness to update your training).
*An Enhanced DBS, or willingness to obtain one.
*A genuine passion for helping babies learn, grow and thrive.
Experience supporting children with additional needs or a medical or nursing background would be welcomed but isn’t essential.
Is Big Yellow Door the right fit for you?
