Full job description1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant – Year 1
Hours: 8:45am – 11:45am (15 hours per week)
We are seeking a caring and committed 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant to provide dedicated support for a Year 1 pupil with general Special Educational Needs.
Key Responsibilities
*Provide 1:1 support to help the pupil access learning and participate fully in classroom activities.
*Work closely with the class teacher to implement tailored learning strategies and interventions.
*Encourage independence, confidence, and engagement in lessons.
*Support the pupil’s social, emotional, and behavioural development.
*Adapt learning activities to meet individual needs where required.
*Monitor progress and provide feedback to the class teacher and SENCO.
*Promote a positive, safe, and inclusive learning environment.
Essential Requirements
*Previous experience working with children in a primary school setting.
*Understanding of Special Educational Needs and inclusive classroom practices.
*Patient, nurturing, and supportive approach.
*Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
*Ability to build positive relationships with pupils, staff, and parents.
*Flexible and proactive attitude.
