A leading fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) manufacturing facility committed to delivering high-quality products while ensuring the safety and well-being of their employees and the environment. They are seeking a Sales Manager to complement their existing sales team.
Title: Sales Manager - UK
Role and Responsibilities:
Responsible for safeguarding and developing the existing customer portfolio while delivering profitable and sustainable sales growth across target markets.
The role balances, strategic account development, and execution discipline, with a strong focus on managing price/cost dynamics and delivering value-added solutions aligned with operational capabilities.
The jobholder will demonstrate a strong technical understanding of relevant products and industrial processes, allowing them to serve as a trusted advisor to customers and the first point of contact for technical & quality enquiries. In collaboration with the Quality and Technical teams, they will lead issue resolution, ensure customer requirements are effectively addressed, and support the delivery of outstanding customer service and maintain long-term customer relationships.
Commercial Leadership:
• Sales and budget responsibility for UK customer base (approx. £15-£20m).
• Execute country sales strategies aligned with regional & segment objectives.
• Drive pricing discipline, including market related price adjustment, indexation and margin protection.
• Lead value-based selling, commercial negotiations and contract management.
Customer & Market Development:
• Maintain and grow the existing customer base with a strong focus on retention.
• Identify and develop new customers, applications and growth segments.
• Translate customer needs into commercial and technical value propositions.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
• Work closely with Regional Segment Teams, Operations, Supply Chain, R&D and Finance.
• Ensure customer commitments align with capacity and cost structures.
• Support regional and European projects using solid project-management principles.
Qualifications and knowledge:
• Proven experience in sales or product management, preferably within industrial packaging or a closely related field.
• Track record selling to large and complex organisations.
• Strong pricing, negotiation and value-based selling skills.
• Solid understanding of technical and manufacturing processes.
