They are now looking to appoint an experienced Accounts Payable Manager to lead their purchase ledger function. Managing a small team, this role is primarily focused on leadership, team development and overseeing the smooth running of the department. While the position is less transactional than a traditional Accounts Payable role, you’ll also be happy to support with day-to-day processing whenever required, leading by example and ensuring the team continues to deliver a first-class service.


Key Responsibilities
*Managing, supporting and developing a small Accounts Payable team
*Overseeing the day-to-day running of the purchase ledger function
*Monitoring workloads and ensuring invoices and supplier payments are processed accurately and on time
*Reviewing and improving accounts payable processes and controls
*Supporting the team with supplier query resolution and escalations
*Ensuring compliance with company procedures and financial controls
*Producing reports and KPIs for senior management
*Working closely with the wider finance team and other departments
*Assisting with month-end activities and reporting
*Providing hands-on support with purchase ledger processing, reconciliations and payment runs as required


About You
The successful candidate will have:
*Previous experience in an Accounts Payable Supervisor or Manager position
*Proven experience leading, motivating and developing a finance team
*Knowledge of purchase ledger processes and controls
*The ability to balance leadership responsibilities with a hands-on approach
*Excellent organisational and problem-solving skills
*Strong communication skills and the ability to develop effective working relationships
*Good systems knowledge, including accounting software and Microsoft Excel
