Job Description:
Full job descriptionElevation Recruitment Group’s Engineering Services Division are recruiting for an Vehicle Service Technician to join a busy specialist automotive service centre based in Rotherham.
This is a mix of workshop-based and same day travelling to customer sites, working as part of a skilled team responsible for the inspection, servicing, maintenance, and repair of a fleet of commercial vehicles, including HGVs and buses (both diesel and electric), operating on a mornings-based shift pattern.
Rotherham
Salary: £35,000
Shift Pattern: Monday to Friday, 06:00 – 14:00
Key Duties & Responsibilities:*Carry out all aspects of vehicle maintenance, servicing, inspection, and repair within the workshop
*Diagnose faults using specialist diagnostic equipment and software, along with manual inspection techniques
*Perform routine maintenance and reactive repairs to ensure vehicle safety and compliance
*Interpret and utilise the latest technical manuals, guides, and service documentation
*Complete job cards and records accurately and efficiently
*Work collaboratively with colleagues to deliver high-quality workmanship and service standards
Skills & Experience Required:*Full UK driving licence (HGV licence desirable but not essential)
*City & Guilds Level 3 in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent qualification)
*Strong diagnostic skills, including electrical and computer-based fault finding
*Proven experience working on HGVs, buses, or other commercial vehicles
*Ability to work independently and as part of a team
*Able to follow both written and verbal instructions with attention to detail
