We are currently recruiting for an experienced Business Partner - Supportive Collection to join a Local Authority’s Corporate Collection & Support service in Bury on an interim basis.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced collections or revenues professional to play a key role in improving income collection, driving service performance and supporting the delivery of a fair, customer-focused collection service.
The Role
Working closely with the Business Manager, you will provide day-to-day operational leadership across collection, recovery and enforcement activities, ensuring statutory compliance while delivering excellent customer outcomes.
You will oversee collection and recovery processes, support court and enforcement activity where required, manage and develop staff, and work collaboratively with internal departments and external stakeholders to improve financial performance and service delivery.
The role will also involve developing management information and reporting, improving processes and systems, supporting financial inclusion initiatives, and helping to shape and enhance the Council’s Supportive Collection Pathway.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
*Significant management experience within Revenues, Council Tax, Business Rates, Accounts Receivable or Adult Social Care Debt.
*A proven track record of managing collection, recovery and enforcement activities within a local authority or similar environment.
*Strong leadership and people management skills, with experience motivating and developing teams.
*Experience producing and interpreting management information to drive service improvements and performance.
*A sound understanding of relevant legislation, recovery processes and customer-focused service delivery.
*Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build effective working relationships across departments and with external partners.
