Your responsibilities as Mid-Level Python Software Engineer
*Develop, test and maintain secure, reliable software using Python together with JavaScript or TypeScript
*Contribute to solution design, ensuring applications remain scalable, maintainable and aligned with modern cloud architecture
*Participate in code reviews, automated testing and continuous improvement of engineering standards
*Collaborate with Product, QA, DevOps and UX teams to deliver high-quality software through Agile sprints
*Work alongside senior technical colleagues to strengthen engineering capability and adopt best practice
*Support the ongoing enhancement of digital platforms that underpin critical energy systems
What we’re looking for in a Mid-Level Python Software Engineer
*Commercial experience developing applications with Python and frameworks such as Django alongside JavaScript or TypeScript
*Experience working within cloud environments including AWS, Azure or Google Cloud Platform
*Strong understanding of software engineering principles, version control and CI/CD practices
*Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent practical experience
*Exposure to technologies such as React, Node.js, Terraform, Docker, Kubernetes, Celery, Infrastructure as Code or database optimisation would be advantageous

Working hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday with hybrid working (2 days per week in the Birmingham office).
