Science / PE TeacherPay: £150-£170 per day (DOE)
Mon-Thurs | 8:30am-3:30pm
Part Time | Term Time Only
Ilford, Essex
We’re looking for an enthusiastic and committed Science / PE Teacher to join a specialist SEN school in the Ilford area. This role involves teaching pupils aged 11-19 with a range of special educational needs, including Autism, SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs), SLD, and associated learning difficulties. This is a fantastic opportunity for a teacher who is passionate about making learning engaging, accessible, and meaningful for young people with additional needs.
Science / PE Teacher Role*Delivering engaging Science and PE lessons tailored to pupil’s individual needs and abilities
*Planning and adapting lessons to ensure all students can access and enjoy the curriculum
*Supporting student’s academic, social, emotional, and physical development
*Creating a positive, structured, and inclusive learning environment
*Managing behaviour positively and effectively in line with school policies
*Working collaboratively with teaching assistants, therapists, and wider school staff
*Monitoring, assessing, and tracking student progress
*Building strong relationships with pupils to promote confidence, independence, and well being
Science / PE Teacher Requirements*Qualified Teacher Status (QTS/QTLS) is preferred but not required
*Experience teaching Science and/or PE across secondary age ranges
*A strong understanding of SEN, Autism, SEMH, or additional learning needs (desirable)
*Excellent classroom and behaviour management skills
*The ability to adapt teaching approaches to meet diverse learning needs
*Strong communication and teamwork skills
*A positive, resilient, and proactive approach
*SEN school experience is desirable but not essential
This role would suit an experienced Science or PE Teacher looking to move into SEN education, or a teacher already working within specialist provisions who is looking for a new challenge.
