We’re recruiting on behalf of a well-established Essex-based charity, who are looking for a passionate and proactive Learning & Development Trainer to join their People & Culture team. You’ll play a key role in shaping how their people learn and grow - leading on training strategy, mandatory compliance training, and management development across the whole organisation.
This is a hands-on role for someone who loves designing and delivering great training, building relationships with managers and stakeholders, and using data to keep improving what’s on offer. You’ll work closely with the Associate Director of People & Culture and the wider team to make sure the learning offer genuinely supports their people and their cause.
What you’ll be doing
*Identifying skills gaps and future workforce needs across the organisation, and building training strategies to address them.
*Leading the design, delivery and evaluation of engaging training for employees at all levels.
*Overseeing mandatory and compliance training, including monitoring completion rates and producing reports for the Senior Leadership Team.
*Driving the Line Manager training agenda and supporting the development of strong people-management skills.
*Managing an organisational coaching caseload, supporting staff and senior managers alike.
*Building and maintaining relationships with external training providers, and sourcing funding or sponsorship opportunities.
*Managing the training budget, and maintaining a clear, consistent learning calendar.
*Keeping accurate training records and using data to measure the impact of what we deliver.
What we’re looking for
Essential:
*Evidence of continuous professional development in L&D or people development, plus a relevant training qualification (e.g. Train the Trainer) and CIPD Level 3 or equivalent.
*Proven experience conducting Training Needs Analysis and designing, delivering and evaluating training for a range of audiences.
*Experience managing mandatory/compliance training and monitoring completion rates.
*Strong facilitation, coaching and communication skills, with the confidence to engage groups at all levels.
*Strong IT skills, including Microsoft 365 (Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint).
*Experience working with managers and stakeholders to identify and implement development solutions.
Desirable:
*CIPD Level 5 in Learning & Development or People Management.
*A coaching or mentoring qualification (e.g. ILM Level 3/5).
*Experience in a healthcare, charity or voluntary-sector organisation.
*Experience sourcing external funding, sponsorship or education grants.
Benefits
*25 days’ annual leave + bank holidays
*Free Carparking at Myland Hall and Westside
*Subsidised refreshments
*Eye Test refunds
*Flu Jabs
*Wellbeing support including bereavement support, meditation, and mindfulness groups
*Staff discount in retail and café outlets
*Blue light Card
*Employee Assistance programme
*Professional registration costs covered
